With high temperature steam, you actually boil the moisture in the leaves and that ruptures the cells of the plant. This causes the plant to die from the outside back to the root system. The heat can be applied by steam.
With the bi-product of this method only being steam it is an ideal method to control weeds around waterways, orchards and vegetable crops as well as a safer method around hertiage trees and sensitive plants.
